Tip of the week – Check your fridge door seals

As the hot weather is just around the corner we certainly give the fridge a workout – but there’s no need to make your fridge work harder than it has too. Your fridge seal keeps the cool air in and if the seal is loose the cool air can leak out, wasting energy and placing your fridge under pressure to work harder.
Clean your door seals regularly (Baking soda and water is a perfect mix to remove any built-up grime) and remove any food residue.

Check your door seal for leaks and if in doubt call in the expert (Appliance Repair Guy of course!).

Tip of the week – Looking after your cooktops

Did you know a dirty cooktop can shorten its life and make cooking inefficient? Cleaning is crucial in ensuring your cooktop, be it electric or gas is heating properly and not overworking.
For electric cooktops use a glass cleaner regularly (a couple of times a week) and warm water and dishwashing liquid around any burners.

For gas cooktops use warm water and dishwashing liquid to clean the grills and ensure there is no debris in the burners…ensuring you don’t touch the igniter.
Ensuring your cooktop is clean and working efficiently could add years of life and save you $.
